Book Mark Art Contest

KELCURT Foundation is all about elevating the Human Experience and we do that in so many ways. The SDCL 2022 Wild Bookmark Art Contest is all about elevating the arts.      

.The SDCL 2022 WILD Bookmark Art Contest is funded by the Artsbuild Community Cultural Connections grant program.


Every year your SDCL creates a Summer reading program and this years theme is "Wild Summer of Reading".

We will have our Summer reading recommendations up soon. Our Wild Literacy Night will be celebrated at Veterans Park on August 20th and we will show the movie "Jumanji".

Contest Rules

Read carefully

Everyone has a different definition of wild - it could mean wild animals, wild adventures, even the wild west. Express your sense of wild to help us create signature bookmarks for the SDCL 2022 WILD Summer of Reading! Entries must be 8.5” x 2.5” and can be in any medium - paint, crayon, pencil, computer graphic, but it MUST be your original work. 


  • All entries must be submitted using the entry form. (click below)
  • Only 1 (one) entry per person. Multiple entries by the same person will be rejected without notice.
  • Only residents of Hamilton County, TN may participate.
  • Entries must be dropped off at the Soddy-Daisy Community Library by 4pm on Friday, March 11, 2022. 
  • DO NOT MAIL Entries. Mailed entries will be rejected.
  • Top 3 possible winners will be notified by Friday, March 25, 2022 and invited to the winner reception where 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be announced.


Copyright Notice:

  • All works MUST be original pieces of art. Art work can not look like nor depict any copyrighted material.
  • Winning originals and all image rights become the property of the KELCURT Foundation upon submission. 


  • Non Winning originals may be displayed at the library as well. 
  • Non winning originals can be returned to the artist upon request. You must come to the library and show id to pick up any returnable submissions. 


Three possible winners will be selected in each of the following age groups: 

Kindergarten - 5th Grade 

6th - 8th Grade
9th - 12th Grade
Adult (18+) 


Winning Prizes:

First place winners in each age category will receive a $50 Visa gift card (or cash); 

Second place winners in each age category will receive a $35 Visa gift card (or cash); 

and 

Third place winners in each age category will receive a $20 Visa gift card (or cash). 


ONLY First place winning entries will be printed as bookmarks and will be given out at the SDCL. Additional copies will be given to Hamilton County  Schools and organizations to share with students and patrons. 


A winner reception and unveiling will be held at the Soddy-Daisy Community Library on Thursday, April 7, 2022. 

All winning pieces will be on display at the SDCL until July 29, 2022.
