In Spring of 2022, the SDCL began offering free period packs to our patrons. All packs contain 7 products for use during menstruation, individual sanitizing wipes, and (as we can provide) a hygiene kit including soap, shampoo, and lotion. Packs are arranged in three styles:
Kit T : 11 tampons, wipes, and hygiene kit (as we can provide) with 2 pieces of chocolate.
Kit P: 11 pads, wipes and hygiene kit (as we can provide) with 2 pieces of chocolate.
Kit PT: mix of 11 pads and tampons and hygiene kit (as we can provide) with 2 pieces of chocolate.
This program is designed to elevate women and teens by providing needed items and taking away the shame of asking for help.
This program is designed to elevate family by inspiring families to talk opening and honest with each other. This is life. We need to talk about it.
This program is designed to elevate community by bringing neighbors together to make a difference in each others lives. This provides an outlet for donations as well as truly making a difference in someone's life.
This program is designed to end Period Poverty in our community. 2/5 teens can not afford mentrations products. This ends now for our community!
In Spring of 2022, the SDCL began offering basic baking classes. These classes are designed to take the mystery out of baking and present simple, easy to follow recipes and techniques to build confidence for the beginner chef as well as inspire seasoned cooks.
This program is designed to elevate the culinary arts by offering simple, easy to follow recipes.
This program is designed to elevate family by inspiring families to get together in the kitchen and celebrate with food.
This program is designed to elevate community by bringing neighbors together in a small intimate setting where they feel comfortable to meet and interact with new friends.
This program is designed to elevate math skills by teaching baking units and measurements.
This is where get a group of 20-35 kids in our Family & Education Center and literally dump out 50k+ pieces of LEGO and allow them to play!
The first 45 minutes is free play. Where the kids can build anything they want. The last 45 minutes hosts a series of "challenges" in which different soft and hard skill-sets are used to challenge their minds to build with a set of conditions.
Examples: Using only 2 colors - build a machine that can go underwater. Solve (an equation) to discover how many LEGOS to start with. Work as a team to build an alien landscape.
This program is designed to elevate family by giving everyone a safe, fun and free activity to play together. This also introduces parents to other parents with the same age of children. This has created new friendships as well as outside play-dates and support to the parents.
This program is designed to elevate creativity and imagination by allowing kids to create and then tell stories about their creations.
This program is designed to elevate Math by presenting equations that the children must solve in order to know how many LEGOs they can start with and use during certain activities. Many challenges are designed to test logic skills, spatial recognition, and organization.
This program is designed to elevate social skills by inspiring teamwork, and healthy social interaction.
