Library Application

Library Card Information

Your Soddy-Daisy Community Library has been serving our community for 4.5 years.

Although we started out with just 4 books, we now have over 23,000 items for our community to enjoy.

Our policies and procedures are developed to minimize theft, and to protect our investments in our community.

To speed up the application process, you can fill out the online application. However,  you will still need to present a valid driver's license to complete the membership process.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: NONE  We don't care where you live. If you need us, we are here for you.

However, with that in mind, if you live in Washington, and are just visiting, you will not. be able to check out items unless you have proof of a seasonal residency nearby. You can become an OUT OF TOWN member (this allows you to visit the library and access events / equipment but you will not be able to check items out). OUT OF TOWN refers to anyone living more than 1 county away from Hamilton County, Tennessee.  We service all surrounding counties.

If your driver's license information is not 100% accurate, or you just moved to our service area,  you will need 2 (two) of the following items, in your name, to prove you live in our service area:

  • Utility bill (includes power, water, trash, gas) (each item counts as one)
  • Bank Statement
  • Renter's / Deed Agreement
  • Insurance document
  • Credit card statement
  • Official Post Office Change of Address document

Once you obtain your library card -

  • Day one: Apply and agree to our terms of service. You can now check out 2 items.
  • Night one: You will receive an automated email confirming your email is accurate. YOU MUST: click Reply to this email, enter ACCEPT in the response area and CLICK send. Once received, your account will be changed from a new patron to limited patron. This allows you to check out 4 items.
  • in 2 months - Once you have a history with our library, you can ask to be a standard patron. This allows you to check out up to 10 items and to sign your kids up for our Baby Sitters Club. Becoming a Standard Patron is not automatic. You must ask for this service and be approved by a volunteer librarian.

Go to application

Below is the button to go to our online library card application.

Please hand your driver's license to a volunteer and fill out this form while at the circulation desk.

Or you can feel this out now, and notify a librarian once you enter the library.  A drivers license is still required to obtain a library card.
